meet panda-chan!

Say "Hello!" to my newest addiction to Land of Cuteseas *drumroll please*...Panda-Chan! Panda-Chan was ordered for a friend of mine for Valentines Day so I hope she loves it! Speaking of Valentines Day...does anyone have any special plans? Tonight we are doing our special Valentines Day dinner and the one and only L'Auberge Chez Francois. I can't wait to stuff my face with authentic delicious French cuisine. Yum!

Oh, I also wanted to share some tunes for your listening pleasure. Bon appetit!

holiday yum yums

One of the best things about the holidays is the goodies that you get. Here are some of the goodies I got in my stocking this year. Ritter chocolate with cornflakes...should be tasty! I'm going to try my best not to eat all of them today.

Look at this little beggar....tisk tisk.

happy new year

Chris & I decided to take our last pictures of the year today. I finally was able to wear my winter shorts since the weather was decent today [thank goodness!]. I can't believe it's been a whole year already! I've been thinking about my resolutions for 2011 and I haven't came up with many. So far I have :

1. Work out. My tiny little self isn't going to stay this way forever ya know?! I got to start thinking ahead for the future.

2. Go the extra mile in school. I already work hard studying and what not, but I want to be the best!

3. Try to make more time for creative endeavors.

Anyone else have any resolutions they want to share?

p.s. I hope everyone has a wonderful time tonight! Happy New Year!

the best

I just wanted to say goodbye to the best grandfather ever. I'm glad you're not in pain anymore. Tell everyone up there I said hello, I love them, and give them a big "oomna" for me. I'm going to miss you a ton.

Love,
Candace

Christmas time is here

Did a little decorating over the week! I would like to do a little more, but this all we had a chance to do so far. Have any of you ladies/gents started decorating for the holidays?

Last Saturday we had some friends over to do Christmas activities. We got a little tipsy and made the decision to make ginger bread houses at 2 a.m.. I think they came out great considering the circumstances! This one definitely beats the first one we made last year.

My best friend actually bought me this Christmas edition Alice in Wonderland tea set for my birthday! Isn't it darling?!

bon appetit!

Yesterday, Chris and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary! He took me out to this super nice French restaurant in Great Falls called L'Auberge Chez Francois. I ate until my heart and stomach were content. I started off with French onion soup, cheese, tomato, and herb quiche[compliments of the chef], and a tasty Caesar salad. I cleansed my palate with homemade orange sorbet topped with a candied violet petal and dug into my main meal, which was sautéed twin Angus beef tenderloins, with wild mushrooms, asparagus and béarnaise sauce. It was amazing. I was pretty much full at this point, but I wasn't going to stop at the best part - DESSERT! The restaurant surprised us with an extra dessert, chocolate ice cream surrounded with crunchy meringue, whip cream, chocolate shavings, raspberry sauce, and mint leaves. Then we also ate baked Alaska and espresso creme brulee. By the time I was done, I just wanted to be rolled out of the restaurant. I'm pretty sure I had the biggest food baby in history after eating all that food. I had died and gone to heaven and just ate ate ate. What a great time!

plans

Chris and I went back to the beach last weekend for a wedding. It was a lovely wedding and it had an awesome photo booth thing set up. Here are the pics we took. We also have to go back to the beach next weekend to close our old apartment and get the last of our boxes. I'm so glad that it's almost done/over! I'm really loving our new condo in Fairfax. Everything is almost in it's place and I actually have a job interview tomorrow. Next week, I'm going to check out the two schools I've been looking at and I'll hopefully pick which one I want to go to. Yay for plans!

zoo

So yesterday, Chris and I decided we would take a break from all the unpacking and head out into the city. We took a trip to the zoo and then we headed to ACKC for some macarons! Here are some picture we took from our adventure.

P.S. The move has been moving along very well! We are about 85% done unpacking and we have put together massive amounts of IKEA furniture. Moving is sooo exhausting! Oh, I was curious if any of you ladies or gents are from the DC/NOVA area and if you are...what are some good places to go to for food/shopping/fun?
